Just nine miles west of Horseshoe Curve, Norfolk Southern reaches the summit of the Allegheny Mountains in the borough of Cresson, Pennsylvania. Sitting at an elevation of just over 2,000 feet above sea level, Cresson is home to a small rail park containing a Pennsylvania Railroad caboose, a shelter with picnic tables, a gazebo, and a viewing platform, making the rail park a fantastic place to watch the action on Norfolk Southern’s busy Pittsburgh Division.
